Educational Technology and Assessment

 

 

According to the "Performance Based Standards for Teachers- Portfolio Artifacts" factsheet put out by Colorado State University's School of Teacher Education and Principal Preparation, EDUC 331  teaches pre-service instructors to "use assessment data as a basis for standards-based instruction" and to "apply technology to the delivery of standards-based instruction."  Pre-service instructors learn to "create a lesson plan integrating the use of technology and aligned to state standards for their subject area" and to "use Microsoft Excel to analyze and interpret... score results and suggest ways of improvement" (Canfield).

 

I believe that even though technology is ever-evolving, in today's world technology is everywhere, and is present in nearly eery part of our lives. I believe this class will give me he fundamental knowledge to master any form of education in the classroom I choose. This mastery will enable me to incorporate technology into my classroom and help students acquire the skills they need to survive in a seriously technological knowledge-based world.
