Lesson One- My Sketchbook February 11th, 2015

 

 

 

 

Students used drawing, painting, and collage methods to personalize their sketchbooks while getting to know their mentors.

Students also discovered that sketchbooks can be used to collect experiments and plan works of art.

 

 

 

 

Lesson Two- The First Forest February 18th, 2015
 
 
 

Today, students will use mixed media techniques to interpret their own “First Forest.” Students will learn through this activity how to interpret stories through art and why artists use art to tell stories.

 

 

 

 

Lesson Three- Stamp It! February 25th, 2015
 
 
 

Today students will use stamping to recreate a motif they have created in a past class. Students will learn how to use different materials to change the meaning of images.

 

 

 

Lesson Four- My Emotions are Abstract March 4th, 2015
 
 

 

Students will create an abstract painting that represents an emotion using tape-line-resist methods.

 

 

 
Lesson Five- Color Collage March 11th, 2015
 
 

 

Students will use paint chips and acrylic paint to create a color collage, focusing on symbolism of colors.
